Marley Medical – Healthcare
What it is:
Marley Medical is a virtual primary care clinic designed to treat common chronic diseases. The company is focusing initially on the treatment of high blood pressure. Patients will have the ability to chat with their care team at any time or they can schedule video visits. The company also plans to send devices, lab kits, and medications directly to patients at home. A 45-minute initial consultation with a licensed Marley Internal Medicine Physician costs $25. Patients can then opt for a $20/month membership which gives them 24/7 access to their multi-specialty care team.
Who Made It?
Marley Medical launched in 2021 and was created by Chris Hogg, David Hubanks, and Joe Slavinsky. The trio previously launched Propeller Health, a digital health platform intended to improve the management of chronic respiratory disease, which was acquired by ResMed for $242.9M in January 2019.
In October 2021, the company raised $9M in seed funding from angel investors like Andreessen Horowitz’s Julie Yoo, Anne Wojcicki (Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at 23andMe), and others.
Why we like it:
- Experienced founders who are well-known in the digital health space
- Telehealth optimized with devices, lab kits, and other diagnostic tools will significantly improve virtual care and move it to the next level
- Backed by reputable and successful angel investors
- Allows patients to affordably receive care for chronic illnesses
